I think you need to run the game engine under 60-100 FPS to measure performance of HW reliably, i.e. your HW is too powerful for this and there's no point for Scawen to solve this. If there's some additional performance needed, it's for that HW which can't run at steady 60-85FPS and I bet Scawen will focus on that, if he will have some spare time to work on optimizations.

The issue I mentioned in this thread only happening in LFS to me. I tried untill now to find out many ways to solve it but nothing. Not sure if this some sort of glitch between LFS and Win XP or anything else but Win7 simply solved it.

I did not notice in any other games such a behaviour. Not something really big to look at but maybe,maybe worth to spend some time later on. Thats up to Scawen to decide. My only purpose of this thread was just to report this.

Going back after few weeks and this was really nice to see such a suprise with new track. It looks really cool and what is finally welcome from my side is that the sideways parts of the track like fences and all simillar staff does not look anymore so big against the car. It makes the car on the track looking more real. LFS looks more real. The track looks promising with nice curves and other parts as well.

The only obvious things which is missing and could improve the omore realistic feel is better in game lightning. This is something I was expecting to come into S3 but it seems it will not get in :-(. Hope there are more suprise for S3 coming and as always devs had so far something more in their pockets which was not mentioned before the new actual content came out.

Hopefully more new tracks even not real will came out in the short future.

I am looking as well for the improved physics. My hope would be for Christmass but as always all things needs time.

We had company party celebrating 5 years of the project (Outsourcing for Verizon Business) with costumes (must express someone from 18 century and older).

The pricing of all the products after the price war between NVIDIA and ATI are amazing. You getting almost top performance roduct for 1/2 price you would pay for same performance product 2-3 years ago. Only costumers won here really.

Look for what you get now for 100Euro/GPB ....amazing.

Go for 275. Some 55nm 260 are afterovercloking same fast as 280.

Screenshots always showing Standard shadows

- In the first screenshot from TV view the difference between test shadow and standard shadow was 1-2FPS max (less with test shadows)

- In the second picture from wheel view
Standard shadows: 110FPS
Test shadows:100 FPS (around 10 percent descreas in performance)

- In the 3rd pictureChase cam
Standard shadows: 150 FPS
Test shadows: 148

I tried also different tracks and positions and found that flucations is around 1-10 percent descrease with test shadows. However found some interesting pattern. In all views the difference between standard and test shadows is only 1 FPS hower from wheel view with mirror turned on its often 5-10FPS.

The GPU usuage was only all the time around 45 percent with fluctuation 2-3 percent up and down in all views except TV where the fluctuation is like 43-60 percent with sinusoidal shape.

I have theory, maybe stupid...
LFS might have too much pixels overdraw or not so good vertex cache performance.Maybe I am totally off.

Also heard somewhere when someone modified CAR models that its problem to use many polygons otherwise the performance decrease a lot. Sorry for mentioned about modding of LFS but wanted to report it.

So far I am running Win7 RC1 and I am so suprized by the performance and overal experience with this new toy. Looks like its even better then my loved WinXP. Vista seriously suck especially with resources allocation and usage. It looks they learned themself finally a bit at MS.

I am very puzzled if to buy it as well I saw the pre-order prices are so low. I would buy however only ultimate version.

Well I think thats around 50-100 euros more then he should be asking but maybe the prices in Spain are higher then here.

The question is for what main purpose this PC wil be used. I can say from start that this processor is not best choice for gaming.You can get quicker for less money.
Just tell us for what you need such a righ (rendering, video editing, games-what kind of games) and then it will be much easier to help you and give you some recomendaton either from AMD or Intel. Platform.

Well I spent a lot of time searching for decent cooler and bought Xigmatek S1283. It seems its better then the above recomended S1284. I am so happy for what I got for the money. I have Phenom II X3 720BE and the CPU is running amazing cool with the cooler.

I would not risk new graphic card with such a powersupply. The P4 itslef is enough power hungry and he could broke the powersupply by to much stressing it.
